You’ve heard the phrase “fruitful and flourishing”… but what if flourishing looks more like being buried than blooming? What if Heaven defines growth differently than the world does?
In this episode of the Silent Season Series, we confront one of the most misunderstood truths of our spiritual journey: God often does His greatest work underground—before anything is seen by others.
Buried or Planted?
When God places us in seasons of silence, obscurity, or seeming inactivity, it’s easy to believe we’ve been buried—forgotten, dismissed, overlooked.
But the truth is… we’ve been planted.
And roots don’t grow in the spotlight.
They grow in darkness.
They grow in silence.
They grow under pressure.
Just like Jesus, who spent 30 hidden years before His 3 public ones, God values depth over display. He isn’t in a rush to make us famous—He’s focused on making us faithful.
Heaven’s Hidden Work
We live in a culture that measures fruit.
God looks at root systems.
People admire the tree that bears much fruit.
But only God sees the quiet, underground work that keeps it from toppling in a storm.
Could it be that this hidden season is a gift—an invitation to grow deep, so that later you can carry the weight of your call?
Ask Yourself:
-
Have I been resenting the silence instead of receiving the invitation?
-
What parts of my life might God be strengthening out of public view?
-
Could this delay be divine protection while He establishes my roots?
Today’s Reminder:
You may not see the fruit yet…
But Heaven sees the roots.
And God always finishes what He starts.

🙏 Closing Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for valuing what’s beneath the surface. Thank You that You are never rushed or careless with our growth. In the moments when I feel forgotten or stuck, remind me that I’m planted—not buried. Teach me to trust Your timing and treasure the roots You’re developing in me. I give You permission to work in the unseen places, knowing that fruit will come in due season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
